The Pull Up: Minority Mental Health

BLK GETAWAY Minority Mental Health

July is Minority Mental Health month and now more than ever the black community needs the right tools, resources, and expert tips to heal through this pandemic! Join #blkgetaway and Tamyra Villines, Owner/Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Lynn E Therapy, for a very enlightening and introspective conversation on how we can break mental health barriers in the black community + effective ways to heal and cope during these tragic times.

  • 30 min will be dedicated to our Q&A/Conversation

  • 15 min will be open to the audience for questioning

Here are some topics we will discuss:

  • Mental health in the black community: Men vs. Women (myths vs reality)

  • How systemic trauma has affected our mental health + the journey to healing

  • Black men and mental health struggles (Misconceptions, needs, and awareness)

  • Women of color and the effect of intersectionality

  • Congenital behavior (What is it? is it generational?)

  • The "Resilient Woman" syndrome

  • Stress in our Culture
